We Rocked Animal Trustees!
Austin Involved swooped into Animal Trustees of Austin yesterday, May 23rd, and left it looking FAR better than when we arrived! For our May volunteer project, Austin Involved members committed to tackling major clean-up projects for the animal welfare nonprofit, many of which were projects that had been on their to-do list for years.

We removed a crumbling fence that rendered their backyard unsafe to contain animals, and began erecting a new one with materials provided by McCoy Fencing (thanks, McCoy!). We painted a mural, we disinfected all the kennels, we cleaned every window in the space, and packaged dog food to be distributed to homeless men and women in Austin who have pets and need to feed them.
In three hours, we did MAJOR work, and we were especially grateful for the staff of ATA, including Executive Director Missy McCullough, who came out to cheer on our efforts, help us work, and personally thank us. It meant a lot to have the staff support our labor.
“We’ve needed a new fence for YEARS,” says Executive Director McCullough. ”No other group before Austin Involved has been able to provide us that. Thank you for bringing both time and money to Animal Trustees to help us fulfill our mission. Plus, we got to meet these amazing young people who are the future of philanthropy in Austin.”
Check out pictures on our Facebook page to see what we did.
Thank you to all of our amazing members who made this day happen. We really, truly did something special for Austin’s animals.

The vimeo video (‘Kindness Cam: Austin Involved volunteers at Animal Trustees of Austin’) is set to private, so not able to watch it. Just thought I’d let you know, in case you didn’t mean for it to be. I’d love to see it!
